NEC Australia today announced it has been awarded with BS25999.2 certification for Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS) through the British Standard Institution (BSI), making the company the first organisation to achieve this certification in Australia.
(BCMS) through the British Standard Institution (BSI), making the company the first organisation to achieve this certification in Australia.
BS25999.2 which was established in November 2007 is a British standard for Business Continuity Management and it defines the operational framework for an organization to proactively prepare and improve its resilience against any major disruptions to its key services.
The key services covered by NEC Australia’s BS25999.2 certification includes the provisioning and management of 24*7 National Service Desk, Billing Services, Data Centre Services, Service Delivery Management, NECare Assurance Services, NECare Repair and Maintenance Services and Network Infrastructure Services.
In times of recent events and devastations caused by some of the world’s worst natural disasters, this achievement is a significant step for NEC Australia in demonstrating its ability and commitment to continue providing its services and supporting its customers when needed.
“Being the first to achieve certification to BS 25999 in Australia is a fantastic achievement for NEC. It is the culmination of great effort and leading edge thinking. It also marks the coming of age for business continuity within the Australian market,” says Shannon Lane, General Manager, Sales and Marketing, BSI Group ANZ.
Looking forward, NEC Australia will continue to enhance its range of services and Business Continuity Management Systems activity in order to maintain the integrity of its BSI certification.
“NEC Australia understands the importance of developing a business continuity management system, and we are proud to be the first organisation in Australia to achieve this certification,” states Alan Hyde, Managing Director, NEC Australia. “We can now immediately undertake preventive and corrective steps necessary to protect our assets, following unexpected events such as natural disasters, terrorism and cybercrime, which is vital for the stability of both our business and our customer’s businesses.”
